Integration of RUSLE Model, Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques for Assessing Soil Erosion Hazards in Arid Zones

چکیده

Soil erosion constitutes one of the main environmental and food security threats, derived from loss its productive capacity. With help remote sensing (RS), geographic information systems (GIS), a revised version universal soil equation (RUSLE), this research has mostly focused on measuring potential hazard water conservation ratio (SWCR) in El-Minia region Egypt. Based integration S2A images digital elevation model (DEM), geomorphological units study area were identified. The RUSLE includes parameters that allow for mapping erosion, such as rain erosivity, erodibility, slope length steepness, cover management, practices. outcomes revealed classes annual rates are those “slight erosion”, “low “moderate erosion” “moderately high which represent percentages 29%, 18%, 33% 20%, respectively, total area. rate decreases east to west. factors low vegetation values. This highlights utility combining classic with techniques (RS) (GIS) basis assessing current conditions arid environments and, specifically, application management patterns aimed at increasing organic matter any other actions. findings can be used by policymakers implement measures if development projects proceed areas risk erosion. approach described here is therefore adaptable similar regions.

Modeling Soil Erosion Using Rusle and Gis Tools

Soil erosion involves detachment and transport of soil particles from top soil layers, degrading soil quality and reducing the productivity of affected lands. Soil eroded from the upland catchment causes depletion of fertile agricultural land and the resulting sediment deposited at the river networks creates river morphological change and reservoir sedimentation problems. However, land managers...

Assessing the vulnerability to soil erosion of the Ukai Dam catchments using remote sensing and GIS

The investigation of basins for planning soil conservation requires a selective approach to identify smaller hydrological units, which would be suitable for more efficient and targeted conservation management programmes. One criterion, generally used to determine the vulnerability of catchments to erosion, is the sediment yield of a basin. In India, sediment yield data are generally not collect...

Predicting Soil Erosion With RUSLE in Mediterranean

Accurate assessment of soil loss is essential for sustainable agricultural production, 11 management and conservation planning, especially in productive rain-fed agro-ecosystems 12 and protected areas. The European Union considers soil as a non-renewable resource and 13 identifies that soil degradation has strong impacts on soil and water resources. In this work the 14 Revised Universal Soil Lo...

Integrated Use of Remote Sensing and Gis for Predicting Soil Erosion Process

Soil erosion is one of the most important environmental problems, and it remains a major threat to the land use of mountainous environment. Runoff from eroding mountainous landscapes contains sediment and any nutrients, fertilizers that were present in the soil. Soil erosion may be reflected in reduced crop production potential, lower surface water quality and damaged drainage networks. Assessm...

Integration of GIS and Oceanic Remote Sensing

Oceanic Remote Sensing Remote sensing is a technique based on measuring the electromagnetic energy reflected or emitted by the surface of geographic space (Caloz and Collet, 2003). Satellites are able to sense an array of parameters including ocean color, sea-surface temperature, sea-surface irradiance, sea-surface topography, and winds (Simpson, 1992). Satellite ocean color remote sensing is b...
